RAJOURI, OCTOBER 16: The functioning of the One Stop Centre and Mahila Shakti Kendra Rajouri was today reviewed by the Senior Consultant Ministry of Women and Child Development GoI, Dr Jupika Madhavi.
During her visit to One Stop Centre, the Administrator OSC, Nitu Sharma apprised about the kind of assistance being provided by the centre to the women and children affected by any kind of violence including police assistance, medical aid, psycho-social counseling, legal counseling etc.
Similarly, the senior consultant also paid a visit to the Mahila Shakti Kendra and reviewed its functioning and the facilities made available for the rural women by the Kendra.
Later, the Senior Consultant also held a meeting with the Deputy Commissioner, Mohammad Nazir Sheikh and discussed with him the core issues which need immediate attention to ensure the smooth and hassle free functioning of OSC and MSK.
The Deputy Commissioner said that the district administration Rajouri is providing all basic amenities to the women and children of the district to ensure that they don’t feel any inconvenience. He also said that every facility required for the smooth functioning of OSC and MSK is being provided on priority basis. He also assured that all the genuine issues pertaining to the centres shall be redressed within shortest possible time.
The Senior Consultant underlined the need to make all possible efforts for strengthening such centres as they play an important role in women and child safety. She urged upon the concerned officers to work in close coordination for realizing the objectives. She also asked to provide full support to the children and women who are the victims of any kind of violence.
District Statistical and Evaluation Officer, Bilal Rashid Mir; Women Welfare Officer, Dr.Anam Mirza and Administrator OSC, Nitu Sharma were present on the occasion.
