The Directorate of Agriculture had conducted activities in the month of December 2020 sowing of Pulses crop is almost complete. Vegetable seeds including Hybrid seeds are provided to the farmers with 50% assistance for the promotion of vegetables in Rabi 2020-21.
Rabi season is advancing and Department has geared up to arrange needed support to farmers through the availability of inputs like fertilizers, pesticides, vegetable seeds, etc., and adequate quantity of high-yielding paddy seeds through Co-operative Societies like Goa Bagayatdar Co-operative Society, Pernem Taluka farmers Society, etc.
The Taluka-wise Awareness Programme was conducted by the Directorate alongwith the Representatives of Implementing Agency (Future General Insurance Ltd. Mumbai) to bring awareness amongst the farmers in order increase insurance coverage under the scheme “Pradhan Mantri Fasal Bima Yojana” (PMFBY) in the State by conducting meetings, display of hoardings/banners of PMFBY scheme in every Zonal Agriculture Offices/Village Panchayats and distributing the pamphlets among the prospective farmers for insurance coverage.
At Agriculture Farm, Ela, Old-Goa 1702 fruit plants, 112 Ornamental plants, and 2 Nos/Kgs Farm produce were produced and sold, Ongoing trial on the effect of Pusa Decomposer on (stubbles) paddy harvested plot at Ela Farm Old Goa in association with Indian Council of
Agricultural Research (ICAR) – Central Coastal Agricultural Research Institute, Ela Old Goa.
At Krishi Vigyan Kendra (KVK) South – Goa, Technical guidance was imparted to the members of 3 Self Help Groups (SHGs) under Home Science.
Atmanirbhar Bharat Swayampurna Goa Programme on Krishi card Agricultural schemes was conducted at Curca Banbolim, Goltim-Navelim, Kumbharjua, and Agassaim wherein 15,12,36 and 60 farmers attended respectively, as informed by Department of Information and Publicity.
